I see this as one of the core issues I’d like my art to bring to light. This massive disparity in wealth, power, and influence is at the heart of what I think are the world’s greatest challenges today: poverty, hunger, racism, sexism, environmental degradation, and pollution.
This 1% of our population now has so much power, power which requires that they remain vested in continuing on our present course; a course that has made them rich beyond imagining, and at the same time has strained our social system to the limits.
If we do not change course I believe we are a doomed people, and I see that graph as simple proof positive of how far off the course we have come.
